RIVERSIDE: Officer involved Shooting at the end of a pursuit

RIVERSIDE: On October 8th, 2020 at around 10 am, a grey Honda Accord was stolen and was witnessed by the owner who called 911. The owner then pursued the stolen car until Riverside Police Department caught up. The Police chase lasted 20 minutes until a PIT maneuver was performed near Van Buren Blvd and Primrose ave. That is where a 50 minute standoff began causing local businesses to close and take cover. The standoff ended when the driver tried to run over the crisis negotiator who was trying to convince the driver to give up. That was when Officers opened fire into the vehicle, striking the suspect at least once causing non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken to the Hospital in stable condition.
